JAMMU, Dec 5: Central Bureau of Investigation/ Anticorruption Bureau Jammu has presented challan against V K Savita, the then Assistant Director Handicraft, Union Ministry of Textile, Aruna Rawat, Secretary of Social Action for Social Development, R S Rawat and Payal Tickoo for siphoning of funds to the tune of Rs 16,35,000.
According to the challan, M/s Social Action for Social Development, an NGO through its Secretary Aruna Rawat in league with the officials of Regional Director and Development Officer Ministry of Textiles got sanctioned funds for holding workshops under Centrally Sponsored Schemes, which were never conducted. In this way, they siphoned off funds worth Rs 16,35,000.
