CBI filed 45 cases against current, ex-minister since 2011

NEW DELHI: The CBI has registered 45 cases against Union ministers, MPs and former ministers of State and Central Government in the last three years.

This information was shared in Lok Sabha by MoS for DoPT Jitendra Singh in a written reply to a member’s question.

“CBI has registered, during the last three years and upto October 31, a total of 45 cases (41 regular cases and 4 preliminary enquiries) against Central Government ministers, MPs and ex-ministers of State and Central Government,” Singh said.

Out of total 45 cases, 25 are under trial and 14 are being probed. Five cases have been closed by CBI and in one case, the investigation agency has appealed against the court order, the minister further said in his reply.

The CBI has also registered regular cases and preliminary enquiries against 50 persons for securing job by producing fake caste certificates in the last five years, Singh said in a written response to another question. (AGENCIES)
