JAMMU, Aug 7: The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) today filed charge sheet against Maj Gen (Retd) V K Sharma, then posted in Army Service Corps, headquartered at Northern Command, Udhampur, in the court of Special judge Anti-Corruption, Jammu under Sections 161 RPC and 5(2) Prevention of Corruption Act.
The CBI had taken up investigations in the case, which was handed over to it by the Army after Court of Inquiry conducted against the now retired Army officer had found him guilty of taking graft from two private companies.
Former Northern Command chief Lt Gen KT Parnaik had ordered Court of Inquiry against Maj Gen Sharma, who was posted in ASC at the Command at the time of allegations leveled against him for taking corruption from two companies.
During investigations, the CBI has established charges against the retired Army officer and filed charge sheet against him in the court.
Investigations of the case were conducted by DySP CBI KS Negi and Inspector Lalit Kumar.
