CB conducts searches in murder case

Srinagar, Sept 8: Special Crime Wing Srinagar of Crime Branch Kashmir today carried out searches at multiple places in Ganderbal district in connection with a murder case.
Officials said the raids were conducted in connection with the investigation of FIR No. 23/2024 under Section 302 IPC, initially registered at Police Station Ganderbal and now with the Special Crime Wing Srinagar.
The searches were carried out at the residential house of Mohammad Afzal Sheikh, son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, resident of Bonzila Haripora, Ganderbal; the residential house of Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, resident of Bonzila Haripora, Ganderbal; and the residential house of Wajid Rasool Dar, son of Ghulam Rasool Dar, resident of Haripora, Ganderbal.
Officials said the searches were conducted by the Special Crime Wing Srinagar in pursuance of search warrants issued by a competent court, with the assistance of the Duty Magistrate and local police.
They added that the case, originally registered at Police Station Ganderbal, was later transferred to the Wing for investigation by the J&K Police Headquarters.
