JAMMU, Apr 5: Crime Branch Jammu today registered a case against Mirza Mohammad Ashraf Malik, a resident of Shopian and his son for duping people on the pretext of providing job.
According to the FIR, a written complaint lodged by Harbans Lal Bhagat, son of Kanshi Ram of EWS Colony Roop Nagar, duly endorsed by CJM Jammu, was received in Crime Branch, wherein the complainant had alleged that while being posted in Srinagar he came into contact with accused Mirza Mohammad Ashraf Malik and his son Shah Nawaz Malik.
As the complainant was desperately searching the jobs for his unemployed sons the accused assured to manage the employment in J&K Bank by alluring him that they are closely associated with the then Finance Minister A R Rather. As a consequence of the allurement and the assurance the complainant paid Rs 3 lakh as advance through cheque Nos. 14889,14890 and 14891 on 30.01.2014 amounting Rs 1 lakh each but no appointment order was provided.
On the receipt of this complaint, a preliminary verification was initiated in the Crime Branch and it was found that the accused persons allured the complainant on the pretext of providing jobs of cashier-cum-clerk in J&K Bank to the sons of the complainant and in turn took an amount of Rs 3 lakh.
After completion of investigation, FIR was lodged against Mirza Mohammad Ashraf Malik, son of Gul Mohammad Malik and his son Shah Nawaz Malik of Gagrien, Shopian under Sections 420,406,120-B RPC.
