JAMMU, Oct 1: Dharna launched by Casual Labour Union of Agriculture Department at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo in support of their demands entered 6th day today in which casual labourers from SM Farm Chinore, Agriculture workshop, Seed Processing Plant and other sections participated.
The leader of the union, Rajan, expressed great resentment over the delaying tactics adopted by the Government in framing a policy for their regularization.
Rajan said complete record of 251 casual labourers was lying with the Administrative Department for regularization but till date nothing has been done. He sought to draw the attention of the Government to the fact that all the casual labourers have continuously been drawing their wages through Government treasuries since 1994 and that their case was fit for regularization.
He added that the demand of regularization of the casual labourers is already in the agreement which was held on September 15, 2011 between JCC and the State Government.
Other leaders of the union who participated in the dharna included Rajinder Kumar, Pitamber Nath, Anil Gandotra, Ravi Kumar, Tilak Raj, Ganesh Sharma, Amit Sharma, Bikram Singh, Baldev Chand, Vijay Kumar, Shakti Kumar etc.
