Cashew declines on low demand

NEW DELHI, Dec 31: Cashew prices fell by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today owing to sluggish demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.

Increased arrivals from producing belts against slackened demand from bulk consumers also weighed pressure on the cashew prices.

Cashew kernel (No 180, 210, 240 and 230) prices fell Rs 5 each to settle at Rs 1,070-1,080, Rs 970-980, Rs 870-880 and Rs 770-780 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said muted demand from retailers and stockists prevailing at higher levels against increased arrivals, weighed on cashew prices.

Almond(Gurbandi-new) Rs 11,800-12,000, Almond (Girdhi) Rs 5,500-5,600; Abjosh Afghani Rs 5,000-22,000.
