JAMMU, Jan 3: Janipur police busted a cash for job racket with the arrest of kingpin.
As per police spokesman, today a complaint was received from Shanker Singh, son of Suram Chand Chib of Sharika Vihar Lower Roop Nagar, Jammu with Police Station Janipur stating that he along with 21 other persons have been duped by five men identified as Ajay Bali, son of late Gopal Krishan Bali of Sharika Vihar Lower Roop Nagar, Mohammad Ayoub Sheikh of district Anantnag, Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh of district Kulgam, Mohammad Yousif Bhat of Sangam, Kashmir and Prithivi Singh, son of Badhri Nath of Seri district Ramban.
The complainant claimed that cash around 1.20 crore has been given to these five men on the promise of providing government jobs. Appointment letters were provided to them of different Government offices by these five persons, which later proved fake, the complainant stated.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 2/18 under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B RPC was registered investigation started.
On specific information, a team from Janipur Police Station arrested the kingpin of the gang identified as Ajay Bali. Fake appointment letters with Government logos, appointment orders, etc have also been seized by the police team.
Hunt has been launched to arrest the other four persons, who are believed to be the master mind in the scam.
Further investigation of the case is going on and more arrests are expected.
Police team led by SHO Janipur SI Bimal Indu made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Jammu Raj Pal Singh, SP City Dr Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
