CAs submit memorandum to IT Commissioner

JAMMU, Mar 15: A delegation of newly formed Executive Committee, J&K Branch of NIRC of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India led by its chairman, Dalip K Kaul today presented a memorandum to Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, AK Thathai, regarding various problems faced by Chartered Accountants handling taxation issues of the assessees in the State.
The delegation comprised of Vikram Garg vice-chairman of the Committee, Anil Sharma, secretary, Shalay Razdan, treasurer, Sandeep Pachnanda and Deepak Kapahi.
The memorandum highlighted the issues like non-credit of TDS, delayed refunds, non-updation of refund delivery failure status, transfer of PANs, non-implementation of Appeal effects and timely disposal of rectification applications, faced by the assessees and Chartered Accountants (CAs) of the State.
Thathai assured full cooperation to the Committee members on behalf of the Income Tax Department.
From department side, RK Kakar and Mahavir Singh, Joint Commissioners of Income Tax Range I and Range II, respectively and Rakesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax were also present in the meeting.
