While talking to the Excelsior, Caretaker of Panjvaktra Mahadev Temple Suresh Sharma alleged that Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) along with Jammu Development Authority (JDA) and others are trying to grab the land of the Panjvaktra temple by constructing a commercial complex.
“As per the documents available with us, the whole land belongs to the temple”, he said, adding “we could not take up the issue in the court as the same is closed due to outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic”.
He said that administration should think over it on its own whether it is right to grab the temple land. “A CBI enquiry should be conducted in the matter and action taken against those, who are trying to grab the temple land”, Sharma demanded.
“Many people including devotees want to join the dharna but we have restricted them in view of COVID-19 pandemic and appealed them to pray from their homes to save the temple land from getting grabbed”, Sharma said.
“We will continue our dharna till Government issues notice and withdraw the order of construction and give statement that the land is owned by the temple only and not by any stakeholder”, he said, adding that some of the people are behind this construction proposal for which he has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to order CBI enquiry and initiate action against those who want to grab the land of temple.
No construction will be allowed on the temple land, Sharma asserted.
