Cardamom futures slump 0.54% on low spot demand

NEW DELHI, June 4:  Cardamom prices moved down by 0.54 per cent to Rs 798 per kg in futures market today as speculators trimmed positions amid muted demand in the spot market.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July declined Rs 4.30, or 0.54 per cent, to Rs 798.00 per kg in a business turnover of 61 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June contracts shed Rs 2.30, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 804.00 per kg in 165 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stock position mainly led to the fall in cardamom prices. (PTI)
