Cardamom futures slide 1.97 on profit-booking

NEW DELHI, Aug 1: Cardamom prices declined by 1.97 per cent to Rs 1,086.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels, driven by easing demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September fell by Rs 21.80, or 1.97 per cent to Rs 1,086.10 per kg in business turnover of 19 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in August contracts was trading lower by Rs 12.40, or 1.04 per cent to Rs 1,177 per kg in 21 lots.

Analysts said besides profit booking by participants at existing level, fall in demand in the physical market against adequate stocks position, mainly led to decline in cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
