Cardamom futures shed 0.61 pc on low demand, adequate stocks

NEW DELHI, Dec 16: Cardamom prices fell by 0.61 per cent to Rs 715.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions on the back of sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January fell by Rs 4.40, or 0.61 per cent, to Rs 715.20 per kg in business turnover of 282 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in February shed Rs 2.30, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 746.20 per kg in 41 lots.
Analysts said speculators reduced positions on the back of sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position that mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
