NEW DELHI, July 7: Cardamom prices were up by 0.93 per cent to Rs 941.40 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions, driven by strong demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month September rose by 8.70, or 0.93 per cent to Rs 941.40 per kg in business turnover of 4 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in August traded higher by Rs 7.10, or 0.76 per cent to Rs 944.50 per kg in 249 lots, while July contract edged up by Rs 1.40, or 0.14 per cent to Rs 979 per kg in 56 lots.
Analysts said besides strong spot market demand, tight supplies from producing belts, mainly led to the rise in cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
