NEW DELHI, Jan 29: Cardamom remained weak for the second straight day and prices declined by Rs 3.20 to Rs 1,070.20 per kg in futures trading today due to sluggish demand in the spot market against sufficient supplies.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February declined by Rs 3.20, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 1,070.20 per kg in business turnover of 327 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in the March contract traded lower by Rs 2.20, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 1,101.10 per kg in 48 lots.
Market analysts said besides sluggish demand in the spot market, increased supplies in the market from producing regions mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
