Cardamom futures remain weak on low demand

NEW DELHI, Sept 9: Cardamom remained weak and prices declined further by 0.66 per cent to Rs 947 per kg in futures market today as speculators engaged in reducing positions, triggered by low spot market demand against higher supplies.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September fell by Rs 6.30, or 0.66 per cent to Rs 947 per kg in business turnover of 16 lots.
In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in October traded lower by Rs 3.90, or 0.42 per cent to Rs 935.60 per kg in 89 lots.
Market analysts attributed the persistent fall in cardamom futures to low demand in the spot market against higher supplies from producing region. (PTI)
