NEW DELHI, July 8: Supported by rising spot demand, cardamom prices rose further by 1.26 per cent to Rs 851 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July month rose by Rs 10.60, or 1.26 per cent to Rs 851.00 per kg in business turnover of 15 lots.
In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in August contracts edged up by 70 paise, or 0.09 per cent to Rs 810.30 per kg in 183 lots.
Market analysts said besides rising domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market, restricted supplies from producing belts mainly kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade. (PTI)
