Cardamom futures remain up on rising demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 19:  Cardamom prices rose further by 0.28 per cent to Rs 958.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in enlarging positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on rising demand .
Further, tight stocks position in the physical market on restricted arrivals from producing belt fuelled the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September added another Rs 2.70, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 958.40 per kg in business turnover of 118 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in October month gained 80 paise, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 950.10 per kg in 17 lots.
Market analysts creation of positions by speculators supported by rising demand in the spot markets mainly kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade. (PTI)
