Cardamom futures fall 0.42 pc on profit-booking

NEW DELHI, Sept 24: Cardamom prices were down by 0.42 per cent to Rs 881.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid sluggish demand in the spot market.
Adequate stocks position in the physical market also influenced the cardamom futures.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November fell by Rs 3.80, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 881.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 36 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in October declined by Rs 3.50, or 0.39 per cent, to Rs 872.30 per kg, with a business turnover of 168 lots.
Marketmen said apart from profit-booking by speculators, sluggish demand in the spot market mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
