Cardamom futures decline 0.64 pc on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Feb 27:  Cardamom prices declined by 0.64 per cent to Rs 1014.10 per kg in futures market today as speculators offloaded their positions, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.
Adequate stocks availability in the physical market following increased arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on cardamom futures.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April declined by Rs 6.50, or 0.64 per cent, to Rs 1,014.10 per kg in a business turnover of 269 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in March shed Rs 4.20, or 0.43 per cent to Rs 977.50 per kg in 1231 lots.
Market analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators, tracking weak trend at spot market on subdued demand mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
