JAMMU, Jan 16: An Army Captain was injured in Pakistan firing last night at Chakan-Da-Bagh while authorities today also suspended cross-LoC trade between Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan occupied Kashmir on Poonch-Rawlakote route in view of yesterday’s tensions on the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar sector of Poonch district in which seven Pakistan army personnel were killed and five others injured.
Sources said Captain Bangoria was injured in Pakistan firing last night and has been airlifted to Military Hospital, Udhampur.
Meanwhile, after suspension of cross-LoC bus between Poonch and Rawlakote yesterday, authorities today also suspended cross-LoC trade on the route. However, a decision on resumption of the trade will be taken tomorrow, sources said.
Cross-LoC trade takes place from Tuesday to Friday every week.
However, after yesterday’s escalated tensions on the LoC especially in Mendhar sector of Poonch district, peace prevailed today as no ceasefire violations were reported from any part of the LoC in twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
