JAMMU, Feb 9: Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today deferred the Calling Attention Notice of the Congress MLA Ajaz Ahmed Khan due to ‘wrong’ information furnished by the Public Works Department.
Contesting the reply furnished by the R&B Minister to the Calling Attention Notice regarding non-payment of the compensation for the structures affected due to PMGSY roads five Tehsils of Thuroo, Gool, Arnas, Thakrakote and Mahore, the Congress MLA said, “there is glaring mismatch between the figures relating to amount involved, funds paid, balance requirement and funds yet to be disbursed by the Collectors”.
Since Minister for Education Altaf Bukhari was replying to the Calling Attention Notice on behalf of R&B Minister, the MLA said, “it is not possible for the Education Minister to give the correct figures and give specific replies to my questions as such the Calling Attention Notice should be deferred”.
Conceding the request of the Congress MLA, Speaker deferred the Calling Attention Notice and directed the Assembly Secretariat to list the same tomorrow.
