JAMMU, July 12: With an aim to create awareness on Devnaagri script, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) Jammu has organized a 10 day Calligraphy Workshop in which experts like Raghunita Gupta, Chairperson, The Calligraphy Foundation; Karambir Singh Rohilla (New Delhi), Jaishankar (Jaipur) and Rohit Verma (Jammu) are working to raise awareness of the script among student participants from different colleges of Jammu.
Calligraphy occupies a distinguished place among various creative practices that have evolved in Indian Subcontinent.
Raghunita Gupta said that many of our scripts are fading with time and we must focus on reviving the scripts by raising awareness and teaching about this specific art form.
The experts say that as scripts are a significant component of our rich cultural legacy, we need to recognize their significance.
The workshop will conclude on July 17, 2023.
