NEW DELHI : Calcutta HC judge C S Karnan appears in SC and seeks restoration of administrative and judicial work.
SC refuses to restore administrative and judicial work of
Justice Karnan; grants him 4 weeks’ time to respond to contempt notice.
Justice Karnan opposes non-restoration of his judicial powers and says he will not appear in SC on next date of hearing.
I don’t need to show any medical certificate said Justice
Karnan to SC.
I am also holding constitutional post. My dignity has
been hurt and work has been taken away without hearing me said Justice Karnan to SC.
A 7-judge bench headed by CJI J S Khehar suggests Justice
Karnan file medical record if he thinks he is “not mentally fit” to respond.
