Cabinet recommends dissolution of 16th LS; Govt resigns

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday here and tendered resignation of his Government following the mandatory norms and paving the way for the formation for the new ministry.

Official sources said Mr Modi presided over a meeting of the Cabinet and Council of Ministers in his South Block Office and discussed the dates for swearing-in ceremony and other formalities required for the formation of the new government after general elections.

The Cabinet also adopted resolution recommending dissolution of the 16th Lok Sabha. (AGENCIES)
