BJP remembers Taploo, other martyrs

JAMMU, Sept 13: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today paid glowing tributes to its former vice president of State and a fire brand leader , Pt. Tika Lal Taploo on the eve of his 30th Martyrdom day here,. Rich Tributes were also paid to all other martyrs and members of security forces who laid down their lives in fighting terrorism in the State over years by the party.
BJP national vice-president and Prabhari Jammu Kashmir, Avinash Rai Khanna along with party State president, Ravinder Raina, State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, MLCs Surinder Ambardar, Girdhari Lal Raina, Kashmir Displaced District president, Chand Jee Bhat and other senior party leaders remembered the contributions of late Pt. Tika Lal Taploo on the occasion.
Avinash Rai Khanna, lauded the role of Tika Lal Taploo and termed him a symbol of nationalism and a voice of the nationalist Kashmiri people. He further added that during early period of terrorism in Kashmir, not only BJP but the entire nation lost a person who was the face of nationalism in Kashmir. He congratulated Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister & BJP national president, Amit Shah for helping India realize the dream of these martyrs by scrapping divisive and discriminatory Article 370 & 35(A) of Indian Constitution.
Khanna also assured the members of displaced community that BJP was and will always be on the forefront to take up their issues. He asked them to follow footsteps of martyr Tika Lal Taploo and contribute to their maximum towards the society and the nation.
Ravinder Raina, while paying tributes recalled the supreme sacrifices of leaders like Tika Lal Taploo. He also praised the members of Kashmiri Displaced community for hard work to expose communal and anti-national nature of terrorist violence in Kashmir in spite of life full of hardships and uncertainties in exile.
Ashok Koul, while paying tributes, threw light on the sacrifice of the nationalist forces in the Kashmir Valley which include Amarnath Vaishnavi, Hira Lal Chatta, Pushker Nath Karnail, D P Koul, Advocate Pt. Prem Nath Bhat, Omkarnath Kak, Chuni Lal Koul, Triloki Nath Mattoo, Niranjan Nath Koul, Daya Krishen Baboo, Omkar Nath Raina. He said that these are some of the countless names of great personalities who struggled all their lives to ensure complete integration of J&K with rest of the country.
MLC’s Surinder  Ambardar and GL Raina  also paid tributes to Tika Lal Taploo, Prem Nath Bhat and other martyrs.  While Surinder Ambardar revisited the period of struggle reminding people the conditions in which nationalist forces worked in the State, G.L. Raina focused on way ahead. He said, “Now that Article 370 & 35(A) stand abrogated and Constitution of India applies to J&K without any hiccups, it is now important to focus on return of the displaced community and liberation of POJK & COJK”.
Martyrs Day function was organized by BJP Kashmir Displaced District (KDD) and was attended by a large number of people drawn from different parts of Jammu. Chand Jee Bhat welcomed the guests and demanded an inquiry Commission headed by a Supreme Court Judge to look into the killings of members of minority Community in the Valley during turmoil.
Several leaders from Manavadhikar party along with their workers also joined BJP on this occasion. He also reiterated the demand for one place settlement of the Displaced Community in Kashmir valley.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Makhan Lal Bhat.
Children from World leader Model School and Mahilla Wing of BJP Kashmir Displaced District presented patriotic songs.
