JAMMU, Oct 30: The Business School, University of Jammu, organized a 2-day extensive workshop on Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurship for the students of MBA.
The workshop, conducted by Make Intern partners with IIM-Calcutta, was aimed at skill development for personnel who are innovative and want to be trained for idea-champions. The event was chaired by Kartik Mehta, Carpe Diem 2K17-18 IIMC, who is a certified Entrepreneurship and Personal Branding Mentor and has a professional experience of over 14+ years as an entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation trainer transforming people, brands and processes.
A total of 67 students actively took part in the session and were evaluated at each point to be selected for competing in the 11th edition of IIM Calcutta’s flagship event ‘Ideas to Implementation (I2I)’ that gives a platform to turn ideas into reality. The shortlisted candidates shall present their Business Plan at IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIM-CIP).
The first day of the training focused on Entrepreneurship wherein Mehta motivated the students to find their passion, widen their perspective, look for solutions to problems around them, innovate and believe in dynamism. He focused on not only developing different ideas but also on working on execution strategies. He further emphasized on building a strong foundation and asked the participants to keep evaluating and changing with the times.
The second day of training was committed to the basics of Digital Marketing. Concepts of data analysis, social profiling, social platforms, digital media and e-marketing strategies were discussed. The workshop concluded successfully with selection of a team of 5 students, after a continuous, two-day rigorous evaluation and a written test.
The team will now appear in a skype interview, after which the top 20 teams amongst all participating teams would be declared by 5th January, 2018. These 20 teams have to submit the presentation till 28th January, 2018 post which they have to appear at IIM Calcutta campus in front of the jury for semifinals and finals.
