UDHAMPUR, Oct 6: Burglars struck State Bank ATM adjoining National Highway in Tikri and took away the entire machine after uprooting it, here last night.
The robbery was apparently well planned and executed by an organized gang, who also took away CCTV camera, which was installed there, as well as its hard disk.
The matter came to light this morning when the ATM complex door was found damaged with its lock broken and the machined missing. On being informed, a Police party from Rehambal Police Station reached the spot and dog squads as well as forensic teams were pressed into service.
The exact amount of cash in the looted ATM was yet to be ascertained by the bank and Police.
According to SHO Rehambal, Inspector Sanjeev Chib, the police investigation was underway and more details would emerge soon. A case FIR number 161/17 under section 457,380 RPC has been registered in this connection at Police Station Rehambal.
