Burglar arrested, stolen property recovered

KISHTWAR, Mar 7: Police arrested a burglar and recovered stolen property from his possession.
As per police sources, yesterday a man namely Liaqat Ali, son of Ghulam Ali Kamal, a resident of Ward Number 5 lodged a complaint with Police Station Kishtwar stating that some unknown persons(s) entered into his house and decamped with gold ornaments and other valuables, when he along with his wife had gone to District Hospital Kishtwar for medical check-up.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 28/19 under section 457 and 380 RPC was registered at Kishtwar Police Station and hunt was launched to nab the accused.
During the course of investigation, a team from Kishtwar Police Station led by Inspector Haji Bashir Ahmed and assisted by SI Shamim Ahmed conducted raids in various suspected places and finally nabbed the burglar, who has been identified as Rafiq Ahmed, son of Jamal Din of Gunduna District Doda, at present Malipeth District Kishtwar.
On his disclosure, police recovered 1 gold necklace, 1 gold ear rings, 1 silver necklace, 1 pair ear ring silver, 1 silver ring and Rs 6500 cash.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
