SAMBA, May 30: Apni Party Provincial president and former Minister, Manjit Singh said that the arrogant bureaucracy is pushing the villages back towards the stone-age with visible underdevelopment and no future plans on how to develop the rural belt of Jammu region.
The former Minister said while addressing a public meeting at Bassi village, Panchayat Palli in Samba District. He said that the Govt has lost its grip over the bureaucrats due to which there is no accountability of the officials and hence, they have become careless towards the policies of development.
“The people are not being given heed. The connection which the officials should have developed all these years is nowhere,” he said and added that the villages have no lanes, drains, electricity and drinking water and the education sector is badly suffering. He said that it is not happening in Samba only but in other districts and the hilly districts are worst hit.
“The health sector is among the worst hit where the doctors and paramedical staff members are not available in Primary Health Centres (PHCs). The villagers have to cover long distances on foot to take treatment in many areas.
He said, “As the Party president Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari has assured, if we come to power, our main focus will be to provide equitable development, proper medical care, adequate deployment of health doctors/employees in rural health centres, improvement in education system in Govt schools and providing relief in electricity charges.”
“We are committed to overall development and unity among the people of two regions of J&K,” he added.
