Bukhari for early completion of highway, railway projects

JAMMU, Oct 12: Minister for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation Basharat Ahmed Bukhari today chaired a meeting to review the pace of  land acquisition process for completing the major development projects within stipulated time frame.
The Minister directed the officers of BEACON authorities to expedite the work on Kishtwar- Gulabgarh road and asked District Development Commissioner, Kathua to get the remaining work on Bhaderwah-Bani-Basholi road and Ramban-Gool road completed within stipulated time frame.
Bukhari directed Deputy Commissioners of Ramban and Udhampur to handover land to NHAI for constructing dumping site so that concerned agency can complete work on Udhampur-Nashri-Ramban National Highway. The NHPC and Power Grid Corporation of India should also be consulted to minimize the damage to power lines and electric towers in the way of national highway, he stressed
The Minister also directed DC Ramban to identify land for the construction of dumping site at Ramsoo for laying railway line from Katra to Banihal.
He further directed the concerned authorities to macadamize road form Katra Railway Station to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University and remove the illegal structures coming in the way of development project.
The Minister directed SDM Basantgarh to complete the requisite formalities and pursue the matter of Khanad road.
Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Ravinder Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Niraj Kumar, Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Alok Mengi, ADCs, SDMs, representatives of BEACON authorities, Konkan Railway, Gammon India Limited and Power Grid Corporation of India including SEs, Executive Engineers of various line departments were present in the meeting.
