Bukhari asks cadre to gear up for upcoming ULB, Panchayat polls

SRINAGAR, Aug 2: Former Minister and Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari today urged the party leaders and senior workers to prepare for the forthcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) and Panchayat elections by intensifying their political activities and public outreach in their respective areas.
He was addressing a meeting of the party leaders and workers from Srinagar’s Chanapora constituency at the party headquarters in Srinagar today. The meeting was convened to discuss certain party affairs and to assess the performance of the workers and leaders in the Chanapora constituency.
During the meeting, the participants engaged in sharing and exchanging their views to apprise the party chief of the current political scenario in the Chanapora constituency.
On this occasion, Bukhari advised the party cadre to enhance its political activities and public outreach to remain in touch with the masses at the grassroots level. He said in view of the upcoming ULB and Panchayat elections, it is essential for party cadre to stay proactive in preparing people for participation in the democratic process.
“It is your responsibility to help people understand that Apni Party is here to safeguard fundamental and democratic rights. The party’s primary objective is to secure sustainable peace, enduring prosperity, and development in the region, while also working towards the economic and political empowerment of its people,” he said.
The prominent party leaders who attended the meeting included State convenor Haji Parvaiz Ahmad, DDC vice chairman Bilal Ahmad Bhat, District vice president Aijaz Rather, Provincial Youth convenor Shoaib Dar, Youth president Chanapora Irshad Ahmad Shah, Incharge Chanapora Constituency and Corporator Rawalpora Mohammad Ashraf Dar, vice president Youth Wing Srinagar Muzaffar Ali, Zonal president Chanapora Constituency Aijaz Khan, Minority Cell incharge Robin Singh, Ward president Rawalpora Nazir Ahmad Dar and others.
