SAMBA, May 27: The irate people of Budwani Ward No 10 Samba blocked the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway on second consecutive day today protesting against the power failure in the area after the burning down of transformer.
The protestors came on National Highway at 12 noon and blocked it for one and half hour expressing their serious resentment against the failure of PDD in restoring the transformer.
The road blockade was lifted after the PDD authorities visited the area and assured the protestors to install transformer by this evening.
Raising slogans they demanded immediate restoration of transformer. They warned to intensify agitation in case the PDD failed to install the transformer by the evening.
It may be recalled that the irate villagers had protested yesterday evening also and blocked National Highway also.
