Budhal College students protest, block road

RAJOURI, Aug 31:  The students from Degree College, Budhal held strong protest demonstration against the State Education authorities and blocked Rajouri-Kotranka-Mahore road for over three hours today.
Reports said that students of  Govt College, Budhal today boycotted their classes and  took out  protest demonstration. They were raising slogans against the State education authorities and raising demand of posting Lecturers/ Asstt Professors in the College. They moved to the main road near junction and raised barricades on Rajouri-Mahore road and disrupted movement of traffic for more than three hours.
The students  alleged that there is only one permanent Lecturer in the college and all others  are temporary engaged under academic arrangement. They have not been paid their wages since long and they have stopped teaching now.  The college falls under winter zone and after two months, there are examinations of the students.  Their studies are being affected. There was already shortage of teaching staff  in the college.
Later, Tehsildar and SHO reached the sport and they assured the agitating students to take up the issue with the concerned higher officials and visiting Education Minister tomorrow at Rajouri. The boys then lifted dharna.
