POONCH, July 31: The annual pilgrimage of Shri Budha Amarnath ji in Mandi- Rajpura town of district Poonch is commencing tomorrow.
The first batch of this annual yatra would start from Jammu yatra camp, Bhagwati Nagar at 5 am. The yatra would take halt at Sunderbani, Nowshera, Rajouri and Bhimber Gali and then reach Poonch town in the evening. After night stay it would start for Mandi town, which is about 25 kms from here.
SSP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain and Additional DC Mumtaz Ali held meetings with the members of Dhasnami Akhara Management Committee and other members of Hindu religious organisations connected with the yatra. Executive Engineer PHE Sarwan Singh and XEn Maqbool Naik from PDD also attended the meeting besides some other district level officers.
The ADC and SSP finalized the arrangements including security and assured all support for the smooth conduct of this annual yatra. They also visited the ITI, Degree College, Higher Secondary Schools (Boys/ Girls), Geeta Bhawan and other places where arrangements for the night halt of the yatris have been made. It was directed to the concerned officers to ensure constant supply of water and power during yatra. Additional police personnel have been deployed at these places for the security. Akhara Mandir, PMC authorities and Traffic police was asked to remove encroachment and clear roads and markets. Regular Langar has been arranged at Akhara Mandir for the yatris under the supervision of president of Management Committee Basant Ram. Arrangement of parking for Yatris’ vehicles has been made at Degree College ground.
Later, both SSP and ADC also paid visit to Rajpura Mandi, Baba Budha Amarnath shrine and reviewed security and other arrangements. They also met the head priest connected with the over all yatra arrangements. They directed the local authorities at Mandi to keep main market free and remove all the illegal encroachment on the road in the town area.
