Buddha, Thiruvalluvar bind two nations: Tarun Vijay

COLOMBO ( Sri Lanka), Nov 4:- In a glittering  ceremony attended by educationists and Ministers, the Sindhu Darshan (J&K) founder convenor,  Tarun Vijay, MP was given Tamizh Sahithya Vizha Virudhu (award) by Sri Lanka’s Central Province’s Environment & Agriculture  Minister Thiru M Rameshwaran at Kandy, near Colombo late last evening.
The contribution of Mr Vijay for Thirukkural was highly praised by the Minister. ” Hailing from North India, from the Himalayas, and working relentlessly for the cause of Tamil and Thirukkural is an amazing great story of our times” he said.
In his address Tarun Vijay said he feels humbled by this award. He exhorted youth to follow Thirukkural path for rising high in life. He said Buddha and Thiruvalluvar are two greatest icons that give message of  peace and brotherhood and forge friendship between two nations. He also announced that 133 Thirukkural reciting students have been selected through a completion held at Madurai on November 1 and they will be taken to Indian Parliament, to be felicitated by HRD Minister Smriti Irani. “First time Parliament will reverberate with Thirukkural making it more sacred and meaningful.” he added.
Earlier in a rarest of rare honours, Tarun Vijay was felicitated by the Colombo University’s Students for his services to Thirukkural and spreading the message of Thiruvalluvar. Vice Chancellor Prof Laxman Dissanayeke is the patron of the Hindu Students Union of Colombo University and all departments’ faculty members are its active associates.
Speaking on this occasion, Tarun Vijay said the award has strengthened his commitment to Thirukkural all the more. He said that Thiruvalluvar inspires us all to seek justice and equality and Thirukkural has given strength to Tamils and all other humanity world over. He said that Thiruvalluvar is the bridge that binds both the people and societies into a bond of friendship.
He said that he feels the pained over the arrested fishermen from Tamil Nadu, they are all my blood brothers and he is sure Sri Lanka Government will help them release soon.
