JAMMU, June 2: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) organized a tribute ceremony at its party office on Tuesday to pay tribute to Martyr Bhagat Amarnath, who made the supreme sacrifice to implement reservation in Jammu and Kashmir, on his 56th death anniversary.
Presided over by the J&K unit of the BSP, Darshan Rana, party leaders and workers participated in the ceremony and paid floral tributes to the portrait of Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath. They highlighted the contributions to the implementation of reservation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Paying tribute to Martyr Bhagat Amarnath, Rana said that Bhagat Amarnath sacrificed his life in 1970 to implement reservation in Jammu and Kashmir, forcing the Government to implement it. He added that the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes living in Jammu and Kashmir are receiving reservations, due to martyrdom of Bhagat Amarnath.

On this occasion, BSP vice president Charanjit Chargotra, general secretary Raja Singh said that following the path shown by such a great leader, we can truly ensure the welfare of the people, especially the Dalits and backward communities. Party District president Tarsem Lal, senior party leader Haji Shak Mohammad, and others were also present.
