BSP announces 16 more candidates for UP LS polls

LUCKNOW: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Sunday released its third and probably the last list of 16 candidates for Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha polls.

With this, BSP has announced 38 candidates of its quota in the SP-BSP-RLD alliance in the state.
According to party sources here, the state party president R S Kushawaha has been fielded from Salempur seat while sitting BSP MLA Ritesh Pandey from Ambedkar Nagar.

Afzal Ansari, elder brother of mafia-don turned politician Mukhtar Ansari, who is a BSP MLA, has been given ticket from Ghazipur while former chief engineer of UP government T Ram has been made candidate from Machhlishahr (reserved) seat.

The candidates announced are Chandra Bhadra Singh from Sultanpur , Ashok Kumar Tripathi from Pratapgarh, Ritesh Pandey from Ambedkar Nagar, Ram Shiromani Verma from Shravasti, Aftab Alam from Dumariyaganj, Ram Prasad Chaudhary from Basti, Bhishma Shankar alias Kushal Tiwari from Sant Kabir Nagar, Vinod Kumar Jaiswal from Deoria, Sadal Prasad from Basgaon (reserved) Ms Sangeeta from Lalganj (reserved), Atul Rai from Ghosi, R S Kushwaha from Salempur, Shyam Singh Yadav from Jaunpur, T Ram from Machhalishahr (reserved), Afzal Ansari from Ghazipur and Ranganath Mishra from Ambedkar Nagar.

BSP had released the names of 11 candidates in their first list on March 22, six candidates in the second list announced on April 1 and five candidates in the third list on April 9.
