While proceeding abroad, I kept my two telephone lines along with broadband in safe custody with BSNL Jammu. On return, I approached the Customer Service Centre (CSC) ,BSNL Office Rani-ka-Talab on 21.09.2016 along with applications and identity documents for restoring the telephone lines and broadband. I was asked to visit two different counters which I did and submitted all the papers requesting them to do the needful at the earliest. Nothing happened till 24, when I again visited CSC and was told that telephone lines have since been released. ” What about broadband”, please enquire at another counter where no person was in sight. Waited for some time and then called on DE Mr. Khanna, who in turn advised me to see another DE Mr. Raina who sits at Janipur Exchange. Since it was beyond my capacity to go to Janipur , I spoke to that exchange. One telephone line was restored on 26.09.2016 but no broadband. Janipur Exchange advised me to revisit CSC Rani Talab for Broadband as it has not received necessary orders from them.
On 27.09.2016 I revisited the broadband counter and found to my dismay that despite a week, my application was not processed. On requesting the dealing assistant, she fed data in her computer and asked me to visit AO commercial and request him to ratify her action so that necessary order for broadband could be issued. Despite being a senior citizen having pain in my legs, I climbed the staircase and approached the AO . I was told that necessary order for one of the lines have been issued -for second line as there is some technical glitch, it may take another 2-3 days-. The order from CSC will go to Kachi Chawani Exchange from where it will be forwarded to Janipur Exchange. I could not understand the logic for such arrangements . Any way for expediting the process, I was advised to contact 2572288 at Kachi Chawani Exchange. I tried for two days but nobody would lift the receiver. Again I got in touch with Janipur Exchange, which gave me another contact at Kachi Chawani Exchange. After lot of efforts I could speak to one Madam, who did not like my contacting her on mobile as it was her personal number. She advised that it would take 3-4 days to reach to order from CSC to Kachi chawani and then latter would take 2-3 days for sending order to Janipur Exchange. This is the last I could do.
One of my telephone line is yet to be connected not to speak about broadband. The other line in my office has been activated but broadband would take another week.
My experience with BSNL has been harrowing, frustrating and painful. Written Complaints at BSNL portal have evoked no response. Complaints sent by mail to GM Kachi Chawani Exchange, who overseas unattended broadband complaints also went in vain and speaking to him on phone was also of no help. It seems that there is no accountability in Jammu BSNL circle as every body operates according to his own sweet will. Will someone in BSNL above look into this and get me broadband connection.?
