BSNL fails to improve service, CM’s help sought

POONCH, Aug 2: Besides repeated inconvenience to the BSNL customers, the day to day functioning of district treasury, banks and other important Government and private institutions is badly hampered as their key public services are dependent on BSNL’s broadband connectivity which continues to be  poor and most of the times non-existent.
The poor state of affairs and the indifferent attitude of BSNL authorities in the State to the border district can be gauged from the fact that a Junior technical officer is heading BSNL’s office and senior district level officers never cross Rajouri.
People even suspect collusion of BSNL authorities in district with rival service providers as BSNL service is repeatedly put off on flimsy grounds. Whenever contacted the BSNL authorities in Poonch pass the buck to the officers sitting in Rajouri.
In a meeting of senior BSNL functionaries in the State got convened by the predecessor of incumbent DC Poonch in the Divisional Commissioner Office at Jammu,  BSNL authorities had assured to improve their services besides providing Cellular connectivity on Mughal Road but the status of their poor services has further deteriorated.
With annual Budha Amarnath yatra to Mandi around the corner and repeated inconvenience to people coming to different offices from remotest corners of the district, locals have sought Chief Minister’s intervention to set things right in the district.
