JALANDHAR, Dec 5: Border Security Force seized five packets of contraband suspected to be heroin from the area of responsibility of 136 Bn of the BSF in Ferozepur sector.
A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier Headquarter of the BSF here said on Saturday, the alert troops of the BSF observed suspicious movements of some mischievous persons ahead of the border security fence and challenged them following which the miscreants fled towards the Pakistan Territory.
During search of the area, the BSF seized five packets of contraband suspected to be heroin weighing 5.360 kg of heroin from the area of responsibility of the 136 BN BSF in Ferozepur sector.
Value of the heroin seized is said to be Rs. 26.80 crore in the international market. The BSF had seized a total of 486.453 kg of heroin having a value of more than Rs. 2426 crore in the international market, from the Punjab border during the current calendar year so far, the spokesperson added.
