BSF-Rangers hold 2 flag meetings, intrusion bid foiled

JAMMU, Nov 26: The Border Security Force and the Pakistan Rangers today held a Commandant level flag meeting here along International Border (IB) and discussed various issues including firing on the IB.
The two sides met on Sunday too, official sources said.
Today’s meeting was held in Ramgarh sector of Samba district from 12.30 pm to 1 pm on the request of Pakistan Rangers.
BSF Commandant M K Yadav participated from the Indian side while Wing Commander Mehran led the Pakistan Rangers delegation, sources said.
“During the meeting, Commanders of both the border guarding forces, inter alia, discussed various issues including firing on IB, presence of suspects in border areas and other routine issues related to border management,” sources said.
One such meeting was also held yesterday at Marh-Gajansu area on the same matters, they said.
Last Friday, the Indian and Pakistan Armies also held a Brigade Commander level meeting at a border crossing in Poonch sector to adhere to ceasefire.
Meanwhile, BSF opened firing after observing movement of the suspects along IB in Ramgarh sector this evening.
The suspects retreated to Pakistan after the BSF firing, soruces said, adding that an infiltration attempt was foiled.
