BSF, Pak Rangers hold flag meet on IB in Jammu, discuss border issues, upcoming Chambliyal mela

Jammu: The BSF officials and Pakistani Rangers today held a flag meeting along the international border and discussed issues in detail, besides holding annual Baba Chambliyal mela.  “On request of Pakistan Rangers, a Commandant-Wing Commander level Flag Meeting was held this morning from 1130 to 1210 hrs between Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers on International Boundary in Suchetgarh area at BP 938,” official spokesperson here said. He said that Pak Rangers was led by Lt Col Mohammad Irfan and BAG was led by Happy Verma, officiating Commandant, Second in Command.  The spokesperson said that both side commanders on meeting, exchanged pleasantries and conveyed good wishes to each other for holy month Ramadan.    During the meeting, Commanders of both the border guarding forces, inter alia, discussed various issues, including recent unprovoked fire of two rounds in Arnia Sector and other routine issues related to border management, he added. The spokesman further added that celebration of forthcoming Chamliyal Mela falling on June 22, was also discussed and further details will be shared by each other in time to come.    “It was decided to hold instant communication between field commanders, whenever required, to resolve the petty matters,” said the spokesperson, adding that meeting was held in a cordial, positive and constructive atmosphere and both sides agreed for expeditious implementation of the decisions taken in the earlier meeting and committed to each other to maintain peace and tranquility at International Border.
