JAMMU, Jan 30: It was a wonderful occasion and self-satisfying experience to celebrate for the top BSF officers of the Jammu Frontier after they came to know through the experiences of the children about the change in their lives which they experienced after participating in the ‘Bharat Darshan’ tours conducted by BSF in last over a decade.
The glittering re-union ceremony of the participants of the ‘Bharat Darshan’ tour from various remote areas of Rajouri, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi districts was organized by the BSF headquarters at Paloura here today. About 458 students/ participants were provided opportunity to get re-united at the one platform.
This was perhaps for the first time that BSF conceived the idea of getting all the participants of previous Bharat Darshan tours together at one platform so that they can express their feelings how this tour brought change in their lives. The process of these tours was started in 2001. Even the girl students also participated in this programme. These students were taken to various parts of the country to give them exposure of Indian culture and heritage with an aim to develop the feeling of national integration.
Several ex-students including Qamar Iqbal, Wasim, Tahira, Sher Singh, Abhilash, Parvez and others shared their experiences and expressed that a change in their lives and mindset could take place only after they got exposure through these tours several years back. Several senior officers of the BSF including Staff Officer to DIG, Mr Jamwal, DIG (G) Mr Oberoi and others were also present.
The students of BSF School, Paloura presented an impressive cultural programme which was highly appreciated by the gathering. Principal of BSF Senior Secondary School, Dr S S Khokhar also witnessed the occasion.
