BSF holds meeting with border residents, warns against felling of trees

SAMBA, June 30: The 80 Battalion BSF organized a Gram General Sabha for listening and resolving the problems of border people today.
To resolve the problem of the border village, R.K. Verma Shahzad Samadesha Company Commander, Seema Chowki Suchetgarh Junction, Surendra Das Acting Company Commander, Seema Chowki Checkfakira & Camp; AGO Operations, Company Commander of Inspection, Border Out Post (BOP) organized a gram Sabha in the premises of Battalion BSF in which Panch Surjeet Singh of Somnath Suchetgarh, Sarpanch of border village Years and Naib Sarpanch of Gram Class, Shamsher Singh and 27 other villagers participated.
During the meeting the people were informed that felling of trees by the villagers is wrong and in future for the same permission of the Forest Department should be obtained.
They were asked that if any stranger appears in their village they must immediately inform the BSF at the Border Post. Moreover no person should go near the border at night, the members of Gujjar community raring their cattle etc should not go close to the border area, besides fire should not be set near the border area and around the camp area, JCB, heavy machines should not be run near border area and near 200 metres of border fencing no construction work should be done on its own.
