It is shocking that a Class 12 student, who is said to have recently completed 18 years, shot dead his school’s woman principal inside her office with the licenced revolver of his businessman father in Haryana days after he was warned for low attendance. The most shocking is that such grievous incidents do not seem to be stopping all over India. This is not the first of its kind, rather, it is the latest in a string of violence in schools across the country. Last September, an eight-year-old student of a school in Gurgaon was murdered on the campus. Earlier this week, a six-year-old boy was stabbed inside a Lucknow school. How long will we get to hear such incidents? I think, the main reason is that the curriculum in schools lacks of moral teachings. Authorities must pay attention to this sensitive matter.
