JAMMU, June 29: Two brothers were killed today in a road mishap in Narwal area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, two brothers namely Muzammal (16) and Mudassir (14), sons of Ghulam Mohd, residents of Kargil Colony (Narwal), were killed on the spot at about 7.30 in the morning when a bike on which they were travelling rammed into a stationary truck at Malik Market.
He said the mishap occurred as the bike rider, Muzammal, lost balance on the vehicle. “Muzammal and Mudassir were students of class 10th and class 8th, respectively of Kendriya Vidayalaya, Sunjuwan and at the time of mishap they were on the way to their school”, he added.
The official said after postmortem, the bodies of both the deceased boys were handed over to their legal heirs for last rites while both the vehicles involved in the mishap were seized and a case was registered by Narwal police for investigation.
