Bring the benefits of loan schemes to the common people: ADM

Hamirpur, June 21: Additional District Magistrate, Hamirpur, Jitendra Sanjta on Sunday told the bankers to provide maximum loans to the people to enable them to stand them on their feet and thereby help in the implementation of the schemes and programs of the central/state governments.
He issued these instructions to bank officers in the meeting of District Level Review Committee and Bank Advisory Committee on Sunday evening. The meeting was held through virtual medium and discussions were held on the achievements of the last quarter of the Annual Credit Plan for the financial year 2020-21. Apart from this, discussions were also held regarding various social security schemes like Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, to encourage digital payments.
Jitendra Sanjata said that during the last quarter of the current financial year, the deposits of all the banks in the district was more than Rs 11,395 crore and till the end of this quarter the loan amount in the district stood at Rs 2,516 crore. The loan-deposit ratio of the district was more than 22 percent but it needed to be enhanced as per the policy of the central government. The Additional District Magistrate directed all the bank officers to increase the ratio of loans and deposits and to reach as many people as possible the benefits of various loan and grant schemes related to banks.
During the meeting, Punjab National Bank’s Divisional Head Vinish Kumar Chawla asked the district bank officials to expedite loan allocation and lay emphasis on achieving time-bound targets and 100% financial inclusion. He also called upon the common people to take a loan from banks and take necessary steps for proper recovery of old loans, so that all-round development of the district can be accelerated. On this occasion, Leading District Manager Santosh Kumar Sinha welcomed the Additional District Magistrate and all the officers involved in the meeting through a virtual medium and presented detailed details of various issues.
