JAMMU Oct, 28: Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd., subsidiary of the world’s largest tyre and rubber company Bridgestone Corporation, today announced a contribution of Rs one crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for the flood affected Jammu and Kashmir.
The donation is aimed at providing aid to the affected people and their speedy recovery, along with the re-building of infrastructure destroyed during the floods
“Our heartfelt sympathies are with all those who were affected by the floods,” said Kazuhiko Mimura, Managing Director, Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd. ”This is truly an unforeseen and unfortunate incident and Bridgestone hopes to play a part in rebuilding the lives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Cheque amounting to Rs. one crore was handed over to the Prime Minister’s Office by Ajay Sevekari Director HR&A, Logistic, Purchase & IT from Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd.
Meanwhile, Lekh Raj Khajuria a social activist of Baja Bain in Sunderbani tehsil of Rajouri district and organizer of Peace and Harmony district has contributed Rs 5000 to relief fund of flood victims.
