UDHAMPUR, May 18: A vital bridge serving as only road link for a number of villages with the National Highway main road at Chopra Shop in Udhampur, is without railing.
Govt Middle School Chopra Shop Zone Udhampur, Balmiki Mohalla, Kothi, Megani and other villages having approximate 10 thousand population are dependent on this bridge to reach the main road. Moreover, the bridge is in a dilapidated condition and requires immediate repair for avoiding any mishap.
According to a local Ashok Kumar, people, particularly school children feel unsafe while crossing this bridge. Even as the concerned authorities were approached a number of time inviting their attention towards the issue, no action was taken so far, he added and demanded immediate repair and railing of the bridge.
